Code, Transportation § 13–710","heading":"","body":"(a) The Administration may deny, cancel, suspend, or revoke the commercial motor vehicle registration of a vehicle if:\n(1) The motor carrier responsible for the safety of the vehicle is subject to an out–of–service order, as defined in § 16–812(i)(1) of this article, or other federal operating authority sanctions; or\n(2) The United States Department of Transportation determines that the motor carrier responsible for the safety of the vehicle is attempting or has attempted to operate a motor carrier under a new identity or as an affiliated entity to avoid:\n(i) Complying with a United States Department of Transportation order;\n(ii) Complying with a statutory or regulatory requirement;\n(iii) Paying a civil penalty;\n(iv) Responding to an enforcement action; or\n(v) Being linked with a negative compliance history.\n(b) A denial, cancellation, suspension, or revocation under this section shall continue until the out–of–service order or other federal operating authority sanctions have been lifted and the motor carrier is allowed to resume operations.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=13-710","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"493581e73c336eeb559a2350c8046124001e38a82bda06a1be772d2825ebf284","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-13-709","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-13-801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
