Code, Transportation § 15–305.1","heading":"","body":"(a) A wholesale dealer who is licensed by the Administration under this subtitle:\n(1) May buy a vehicle from another dealer, at an auto auction, or from a retail seller;\n(2) May sell a vehicle to or exchange vehicles with another dealer;\n(3) Except as provided in item (4) of this subsection, may sell a vehicle or exchange vehicles at an auto auction;\n(4) May not sell a vehicle to or exchange vehicles with a retail buyer; and\n(5) May not buy, sell, or exchange new vehicles.\n(b) A wholesale dealer shall keep a record of the following:\n(1) The year, make, model, and identification number of a vehicle that is bought, sold, or exchanged;\n(2) The date that a vehicle is bought, sold, or exchanged;\n(3) The amount for which a vehicle is bought or sold;\n(4) The name, address, and license number of the other person with whom the wholesale dealer conducts a purchase, sale, or exchange;\n(5) The odometer mileage statement for a vehicle that is required under the federal Motor Vehicle Information and Cost Act; and\n(6) Each invoice, bill of sale, and other pertinent document and record in the form required by the Administration.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=15-305.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"0723cb7a470a20e7cdd846d6bd3a767c8f0fbb7641fbc812c4f7c7fc54773766","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-15-305","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-15-306"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
