Code, Transportation § 16–1003","heading":"","body":"(a) The Administration may operate a verification system for electronic credentials.\n(b) (1) Access to the verification system and any data field by a person presented with an electronic credential requires the credential holder’s consent.\n(2) If consent is granted under paragraph (1) of this subsection, the Administration may release through the verification system:\n(i) For a full profile, all data fields that appear on the physical credential that corresponds with the electronic credential that is being verified; and\n(ii) For a limited profile, only the data fields represented in the limited profile for the physical credential that corresponds with the electronic credential that is being verified.\n(c) A third party may administer on behalf of the Administration any system developed to facilitate the issuance, verification, and use of electronic credentials.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=16-1003","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"1f659b63106a2c8b44a201ebfd1c8f50e5d1e6ac2d5a606c43dcf091bf845019","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-1002","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-1004"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
