Code, Transportation § 16–809","heading":"","body":"A person may drive a commercial motor vehicle if:\n(1) The person holds a valid commercial driver’s license issued by any:\n(i) State in accordance with the minimum federal standards for the issuance of a commercial driver’s license; or\n(ii) Foreign jurisdiction that the United States Department of Transportation has determined issues commercial drivers’ licenses in accordance with the minimum federal standards;\n(2) The person’s driver’s license is not refused, suspended, revoked, or canceled;\n(3) The person is not disqualified from driving a commercial motor vehicle in any state;\n(4) The person is not disqualified from driving a commercial vehicle by the United States Department of Transportation;\n(5) The person is not subject to an out-of-service order as defined in § 16-812(i)(1)(ii) of this subtitle;\n(6) The person has the commercial driver’s license in the person’s possession; and\n(7) The person’s commercial driver’s license is valid for the type of vehicle being driven, as determined by regulation established by the United States Department of Transportation.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=16-809","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"30641df1527dd50b1b509cd4e569b0351116792566799bbbdd5205409043b582","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-808","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-810"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
