Code, Transportation § 16–818","heading":"","body":"(a) An applicant for a commercial driver's license shall pay the Administration the following fees established by the Administration:\n(1) Upon application for a new commercial driver's license or a commercial driver's license of a class other than that which the applicant holds:\n(i) The base license fee if a commercial driver's instructional permit is required or an amount established by the Administration if an instructional permit is not required;\n(ii) A commercial driver's license fee; and\n(iii) The applicable fees listed in subsection (b) of this section;\n(2) For the renewal of any class of commercial driver's license:\n(i) A renewal fee;\n(ii) A commercial driver's license fee; and\n(iii) The applicable fees listed in subsection (b) of this section;\n(3) For the conversion of a Maryland Class A, B, C, or D driver's license to a commercial driver's license:\n(i) A renewal fee;\n(ii) A commercial driver's license fee; and\n(iii) The applicable fees listed in subsection (b) of this section; and\n(4) For issuance of a duplicate or corrected commercial driver's license, a duplicate or corrected driver's license fee.\n(b) In addition to the fees required by subsection (a) of this section, the applicant shall pay the Administration a fee established by the Administration for a required skills test or for a skills retest.\n(c) Fees collected under this section:\n(1) Shall be deposited in the Transportation Trust Fund; and\n(2) Are not subject to the provisions of Title 8, Subtitle 4 of this article on the disposition of highway user revenues.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=16-818","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"3c61e33145ab6004fa4e35c818e036e9d1f029df44275654b17169e79a675d94","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-817","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-16-819"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
