Code, Transportation § 21–1126","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “violation” means:\n(1) A violation of the Maryland Vehicle Law that is punishable by a sentence of imprisonment; or\n(2) A violation of § 21–901.1(a) of this title.\n(b) A person may not commit or engage another person to commit a violation for the purpose of filming, videotaping, photographing, or otherwise recording the violation unless the person obtains written permission for the commission of the violation from:\n(1) The Secretary of State Police, or the Secretary’s designee; or\n(2) The chief executive officer of the governing body of the county in which the violation is to occur, or the chief executive officer’s designee.\n(c) A person convicted of a violation of this section is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or a fine not exceeding $1,000 or both.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=21-1126","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"0362bcb94bf23f8cadd885b500ccc5175b78defacac7534a59c0485ac66fdf4b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-21-1125","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-21-1127"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
