Code, Transportation § 21–1303.1","heading":"","body":"(a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this title, a person may not operate a motorcycle that has a motor with a rating of 1.5 brake horsepower or less, or a capacity of less than 70 cubic centimeters piston displacement:\n(1) On a roadway where the posted maximum speed limit is more than 50 miles per hour; or\n(2) On any expressway or other controlled access highway.\n(b) (1) Prior to the sale of such vehicle, any dealer or agent or employee of a dealer, any vehicle salesman, or other person who sells a motorcycle as defined in this subsection shall inform the buyer of the operating restrictions imposed by this section.\n(2) The Administration may provide a warning of the operating restrictions imposed by this subsection.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=21-1303.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"aeff81945cff1319ababe520ba66d0776cecee7c3b15c2769bcf1ea433e854d0","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-21-1303","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-21-1304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
