Code, Transportation § 22–402.1","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not willfully or intentionally remove, alter, or otherwise render inoperable except for a bona fide repair or replacement, any exhaust emission control device that has been installed by a manufacturer of motor vehicles on a motor vehicle manufactured as a 1968 or later model, if the motor vehicle is factory equipped with this device as required by federal law or by rule or regulation adopted by the Administrator.\n(b) A person may not willfully or intentionally remove, alter, or otherwise render inoperable except for a bona fide repair or replacement, any gasoline tank filler inlet device that has been installed by a manufacturer of motor vehicles on a motor vehicle manufactured as a 1968 or later model, if the motor vehicle is factory equipped with this device as required by federal law or by rule or regulation adopted by the Administrator.\n(c) A person may not willfully or intentionally remove, alter, or otherwise render inoperable except for a bona fide repair or replacement, any crankcase ventilation device that has been installed by a manufacturer of motor vehicles on a motor vehicle manufactured as a 1968 or later model, if the motor vehicle is factory equipped with this device as required by federal law or by rule or regulation adopted by the Administrator.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=22-402.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"61bd5bcc24520b8d7f52c8bfc8d060b72743a5474da82477d2065c1b33f5160b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-22-402","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-22-402.2"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
