Code, Transportation § 23–103.1","heading":"","body":"(a) An applicant for an inspection mechanic license shall submit to the Division:\n(1) An application in the manner and format designated by the Division; and\n(2) A nonrefundable application fee of $15 to take the examination.\n(b) (1) The Division shall:\n(i) Administer an examination to each inspection mechanic applicant; and\n(ii) If the Division determines the applicant is qualified, license the inspection mechanic applicant to conduct vehicle inspections.\n(2) The examination shall include a written test and a practical test.\n(c) The Division may establish standards by regulation for the testing, qualifying, and licensing of inspection station mechanics.\n(d) The Division may:\n(1) For cause, require a reexamination of a licensed inspection mechanic for qualification to continue or resume conducting vehicle inspections;\n(2) For cause, suspend or revoke the mechanic’s license; or\n(3) On suspension or revocation of the mechanic’s license, rescind the authorization to conduct vehicle inspections in accordance with this title.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=23-103.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"d0897e9a0050a59846cd8e693cf47cfb42267bb7fb465186fd0b8505ba440335","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-23-103","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-23-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
