Code, Transportation § 5–209","heading":"","body":"(a) The Executive Director or any officer or employee of the Administration designated by the Executive Director may conduct investigations, inquiries, and hearings as to:\n(1) Any matter covered by this title or by a rule, regulation, or order of the Administration; or\n(2) Any aeronautics accident in this State.\n(b) Hearings shall be:\n(1) Open to the public; and\n(2) Except as provided in § 5–210 of this subtitle, held on such notice as the Executive Director considers advisable.\n(c) The Executive Director or his designee may:\n(1) Administer oaths;\n(2) Certify to all official acts; and\n(3) Issue subpoenas and orders for the attendance and testimony of witnesses and the production of papers, books, and documents.\n(d) (1) If a person fails to comply with any subpoena or order issued under this section, the Executive Director or his designee may invoke the aid of a court of competent jurisdiction.\n(2) The court may order that person to obey the subpoena or order or to give evidence about the matter in question.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=5-209","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"dae0fd2eec6643a4ea0a2e02de00a94762af9b0ab37f3e9cd24f832bb5fc3b3a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-5-208","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-5-210"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
