Code, Transportation § 5–812","heading":"","body":"(a) Unless a person has an appropriate permit issued by the political subdivision, the person may not, in a noise zone established under this part:\n(1) Establish or construct any new structure;\n(2) Make any new use of any existing structure or land; or\n(3) Substantially alter any existing structure or use of land.\n(b) A political subdivision may not grant a permit if the proposed action would enlarge the size of or create an impacted land use area.\n(c) Before a political subdivision acts on any permit application, the political subdivision shall notify the Administration of the application and give the Administration an opportunity to comment.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=5-812","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"e2e9d71613591a73a483799cfb9c2d93f05e27a673f5a07713e68e0f1387cfc2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-5-811","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-5-813"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
