Code, Transportation § 7–301","heading":"","body":"(a) The Administration shall prepare plans to meet the transit needs of the District and from time to time shall review and revise these plans.\n(b) The plans shall specify:\n(1) The transit facilities to be constructed or acquired, including the location of terminals, stations, and parking facilities;\n(2) The character, nature, design, and location of the transit facilities;\n(3) Whether the transit facilities are to be constructed or acquired by lease, purchase, or condemnation;\n(4) A timetable for providing the transit facilities;\n(5) Anticipated capital costs;\n(6) Estimated operating expenses and revenues;\n(7) The type of equipment to be used;\n(8) The areas to be served and the routes and schedules of service expected to be provided;\n(9) The expected fares and charges for service;\n(10) The plan of financing the capital costs and operation of the transit facilities;\n(11) When applicable, improvements in interjurisdictional commuter transit services including the location of corridors, routes, stations, and terminals;\n(12) Improvements to fare payment systems that will:\n(i) Allow for the processing of fare media in electronic form; and\n(ii) Provide electronic fare media for distribution to employees as part of a commuter benefits program; and\n(13) Any other information that the Administration considers relevant.\n(c) A plan may provide for demonstration or testing facilities and for the use of the facilities for research and development.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=7-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"a6342a871bd31644c854dcb63b8894917adff18ad74679dd270bc64f492b8b88","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-7-213","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-7-301.1"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
