Code, Transportation § 8–1005","heading":"","body":"The implementation of Vision Zero shall include strategies for:\n(1) Identifying State and local laws, policies, and regulations that hinder the development and implementation of Vision Zero;\n(2) Proposing changes to State and local laws to allow for innovative engineering and traffic calming;\n(3) Creating a Vision Zero website that contains information related to Vision Zero;\n(4) Collecting and publishing motor vehicle collision data;\n(5) Connecting with other states and communities that have implemented a similar Vision Zero program;\n(6) Reviewing existing traffic safety programs to determine their effectiveness;\n(7) Working with research organizations to develop best practices;\n(8) Prioritizing resources for investment in the communities most affected by motor vehicle collisions;\n(9) Proactively engaging community members to address their traffic safety concerns;\n(10) Developing and publishing a long–term plan for the continued development of Vision Zero; and\n(11) Investing more resources into construction needs for high–accident intersections and roadway sections.","path":["Article - Transportation"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gtr\u0026section=8-1005","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T20:01:38Z","sha256":"8371131ba60631a366f84529ba2a735cb360789a65f6229be389382a1cb7677a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-8-1004","next":"us-md/md.-code-transportation-8-1006"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
