A person may not hunt deer with any firearms using a .17 or .22 caliber rimfire cartridge, except that the use of the .22 caliber rimfire magnum cartridge is not prohibited.\n2.  Penalties.  The following penalties apply to violations of subsection 1.\nA.  A person who violates subsection 1 commits a civil violation for which a fine of not less than $100 nor more than $500 may be adjudged.\nB.
