{"data":{"id":"us-me/2-m.r.s.-6","jurisdiction":"us-me","citation":"2 M.R.S. §6","heading":"Salaries subject to adjustment by Governor","body":"Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, the Governor is authorized to adjust the salaries of the following state officials within the salary ranges indicated in this section.  The adjustment may be at the time of appointment of the official and subsequently as provided by law.  The salary ranges shall be as provided by law; except that, for the purposes of this section, each salary range shall be increased by 2 steps in addition to and in the same manner of increase as the steps in the range otherwise provided by law.  No other state salary shall be paid to these officials.\n1.  Range 91.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 91:\nCommissioner of Transportation;\nCommissioner of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry;\nCommissioner of Administrative and Financial Services;\nCommissioner of Education;\nCommissioner of Environmental Protection;\nExecutive Director of Dirigo Health;\nCommissioner of Public Safety;\nCommissioner of Professional and Financial Regulation;\nCommissioner of Labor;\nCommissioner of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife;\nCommissioner of Marine Resources;\nCommissioner of Corrections;\nCommissioner of Economic and Community Development;\nCommissioner of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management;\nExecutive Director, Workers' Compensation Board; and\nCommissioner of Energy Resources.\n1-A.  Range 58.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 58:\nCommissioner of Health and Human Services.\n2.  Range 90.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 90:\nSuperintendent of Financial Institutions;\nSuperintendent of Consumer Credit Protection;\nState Tax Assessor;\nAssociate Commissioner for Tax Policy, Department of Administrative and Financial Services;\nSuperintendent of Insurance;\nExecutive Director of the Maine Consumer Choice Health Plan;\nTwo deputy commissioners, Department of Administrative and Financial Services;\nDeputy Commissioner, Department of Corrections;\nPublic Advocate;\nTwo deputy commissioners, Department of Health and Human Services;\nChief Information Officer;\nAssociate Commissioner, Department of Corrections;\nChief of the State Police;\nSecurities Administrator, Office of Securities;\nDirector, Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation; and\nDeputy Commissioner, Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.\n3.  Range 89.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 89:\nDirector, Bureau of General Services;\nDirector, Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages and Lottery Operations;\nState Budget Officer;\nState Controller;\nDirector, Bureau of Forestry;\nDirector, Office of Policy Innovation and the Future;\nDirector, Governor's Energy Office;\nState Human Resources Officer;\nDirector, Bureau of Parks and Lands;\nDirector of the Governor's Office of Communications;\nDirector, Bureau of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources;\nDirector, Bureau of Resource Information and Land Use Planning;\nDirector, Office of Cannabis Policy;\nExecutive Director, Office of Affordable Health Care; and\nDirector, Maine Office of Community Affairs.\n4.  Range 88.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 88:\nDirector, Bureau of Air Quality;\nDirector, Bureau of Water Quality;\nDirector, Bureau of Land Resources;\nDirector, Bureau of Remediation and Waste Management;\nDeputy Commissioner, Environmental Protection;\nDeputy Chief of the State Police; and\nDeputy Commissioner, Energy Resources.\n5.  Range 86.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 86:\nState Archivist;\nDirector, Division of Land Use Planning, Permitting and Compliance;\nChair, Maine Unemployment Insurance Commission;\nChild Welfare Services Ombudsman; and\nDirector of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.\n6.  Range 85.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 85:\nDirector of the Maine Emergency Management Agency;\nMembers, Maine Unemployment Insurance Commission;\nDeputy Commissioner of the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management;\nDirector of the Maine Bureau of Veterans' Services; and\nExecutive Analyst, Board of Environmental Protection.\n7.  Range 83.\n8.  Range 81.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees shall be within salary range 81:\nAssistant Adjutant General.\n9.\n10.  Range 80.  The salaries of the following state officials and employees are within salary range 80:\n11.  Range 38.  The salary of one deputy commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services is within salary range 38.\nA.\nB.\n12.  Range 52.\n13.  Range 37.
