A person is guilty of misuse of the 9-1-1 system if without reasonable cause the person, after having been forbidden to do so by a public safety answering point manager or administrator or a law enforcement officer:\nA.  Makes repeated 9-1-1 calls to make nonemergency reports or inquiries;\nB.  Causes 9-1-1 calls to be made using an alarm or other alerting device that automatically contacts 9-1-1 and transmits a prerecorded signal or message; or\nC.  Violates paragraph B after having previously violated paragraph B.\n2.  Penalty.\n2-A.  Penalty.  The following penalties apply to violations of this section.\nA.  Violation of subsection 1, paragraph A or C is a Class E crime.  Violation of subsection 1, paragraph A or C is a strict liability crime as defined in Title 17‑A, section 34, subsection 4‑A.\nB.
