{"data":{"id":"us-me/9-a-m.r.s.-3-501","jurisdiction":"us-me","citation":"9-A M.R.S. §3-501","heading":"Definition: \"Home solicitation sale\"","body":"\"Home solicitation sale\" means a consumer credit sale of goods, other than farm equipment, or services in which the seller or a person acting for the seller engages in a personal solicitation of the sale at a residence of the buyer and the buyer's agreement or offer to purchase is there given to the seller or a person acting for the seller.  It includes a sale in which the seller allows the buyer to purchase goods or services pursuant to a lender credit card.  It does not include a sale made pursuant to a preexisting open-end credit account, a sale made pursuant to prior negotiations between the parties at a business establishment at a fixed location where goods or services are offered or exhibited for sale or a sale that is subject to the provisions on the consumer's right to rescind certain transactions of the Federal Truth in Lending Act.
