Laws § 123.955","heading":"County and municipal building authority; articles of incorporation; contents; eligibility of governing body member for membership or appointment.","body":"Sec. 5.\n\nThe articles of incorporation shall set forth all of the following:\n\nThe name of the authority.\n\nThe name or names of the unit or units incorporating the authority.\n\nThe purpose for which the authority is incorporated.\n\nThe number, terms, and manner of selection of the officers of the authority including its governing body, which shall be known as the \"commission\".\n\nThe powers and duties of the authority and of its officers.\n\nThe date upon which the authority shall become effective.\n\nThe officer required to publish the articles of incorporation and the name of the newspaper in which the articles of incorporation shall be published.\n\nThe county with whose clerk the articles of incorporation shall be filed, which shall be a county that is an incorporating unit or in which an incorporating unit is located.\n\nAny other matters considered expedient.\n\nA member of the governing body of an incorporating unit of an authority is not eligible for membership or appointment to the authority.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 123","Act Act-31-of-1948-1st-Ex-Sess-"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-123-955","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"ad163cf877af60f643dbffcdaa2230f555fc228f97064be0d1af2754a6cacee5","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-123.954","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-123.955a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
