Laws § 124.467","heading":"Public transportation service; financing.","body":"Sec. 17.\n\nPublic transportation service, including any public transportation system and public transportation facilities, may be financed by the public authority by any 1 or more of the following means:\n\nBy service charges, fees, or fares to users of the public transportation services.\n\nBy funds disbursed by the state to the public authority and usable by the public authority.\n\nBy any other income or revenue, including appropriations or contributions, or other revenue of the members of the public authority and any political subdivisions.\n\nBy grants, loans, appropriations, payments, or contributions from the federal government, this state, another state or other governmental units and grants, contributions, gifts, devises, or bequests from public or private sources.\n\nBy proceeds of ad valorem taxes, special assessments, or charges imposed pursuant to law and collected by the state or a political subdivision or the public authority and returned or paid to the public authority pursuant to law or contract.\n\nBy proceeds of an income tax as may be provided by law.\n\nBy issuance of bonds or notes as provided by this act.\n\nBy means of land contracts, installment purchase contracts, or leases authorized by this act.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 124","Act Act-196-of-1986"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-124-467","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2a610db6049b18c7f9e4c1783f287f63862a266d3cec2a2121bbf108f16047f2","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-124.466","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-124.468"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
