Laws § 125.1235","heading":"Economic development and expansion program; activities.","body":"Sec. 5.\n\nThe commission shall plan and direct the carrying out of an economic development and expansion program for the county or region. The program shall include, but not be restricted to, the following activities:\n\nInvestigation and study of conditions affecting the economy of the area, technical studies and statistical research and surveys necessary or useful for the expansion of the economy, and the collection and dissemination of such information.\n\nRecommendations to the board or boards of supervisors for the study and elimination of restrictions, barriers and burdens imposed by law or otherwise, which may adversely affect or retard the development and expansion of area industry, commerce or agriculture.\n\nStudy and advise the board or boards of supervisors, industry and interested organizations and associations as to means and methods of providing financing for economic expansion in the county or region.\n\nPromotion and encouragement of the expansion and development of markets for products of the county or region.\n\nPublicizing of the material, economic and cultural advantages of the county or region.\n\nConduct research and make recommendations to the board or boards of supervisors for the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing a coordinated and efficient development of the county or region in accordance with present and future needs and to best utilize the county's or region's resources.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 125","Act Act-46-of-1966"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-125-1235","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"b219771e842b1bce1c16a331213d6b6ad5ce0f5c39d6b54a16758934dbbe69ea","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-125.1234","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-125.1236"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
