Laws § 125.1575","heading":"Community board; duties; petition for designation.","body":"Sec. 5.\n\nUpon appointment, the community board shall do all of the following:\n\nIdentify the building or part of the building under consideration for designation as a business incubation center.\n\nAdvertise the concept of a business incubation center in the surrounding area.\n\nSolicit the views of the community concerning the designation of the building or part of the building under consideration as a business incubation center.\n\nIdentify possible tenants for the center.\n\nObtain commitments from persons, organizations, businesses, local governmental units, or other sources amounting to at least 50% of those costs not covered by rental fees that the board estimates will be needed for the establishment and operation of the business incubation center for 3 years.\n\nIf, after performing the duties required by subsection (1), the board determines that a designation of the building under consideration as a business incubation center is desirable and possible, the board shall petition the department for the designation.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 125","Act Act-198-of-1984"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-125-1575","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"b34d2153c314e9739cfd00c32f0ff29c31d57c7bae1efd34b41ee8c51452b6ee","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-125.1574","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-125.1576"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
