Laws § 141.953","heading":"Submission of data by municipality; form; review of data; certification of amount; warrant.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nBy September 1 of each year, a municipality in which a state facility is located shall submit to the director the following:\n\nThe dollar amount of the actual expenditures for fire protection for the municipality's preceding fiscal year.\n\nThe current state equalized valuation.\n\nCertification that fire protection is provided to a state facility in the same manner as those services are provided to the municipality.\n\nInformation on fire protection expenditures and state equalized valuation shall be submitted in a form prescribed by the director.\n\nThe director shall review the data submitted and, before November 1 of each year, shall certify to the state treasurer an amount, determined pursuant to the formula set forth in section 4, to be paid to a municipality in which a state facility is located.\n\nThe state treasurer shall draw a warrant upon the general fund of the state for the amount certified to be paid to a municipality and shall forward the warrant to the treasurer of the municipality before December 1 of each year, except as provided in section 2(1).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 141","Act Act-289-of-1977"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-141-953","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"a86d22bdbd83921ed63f0b6d86ff51521ad9dc005f460d70c83954dbf5ddd4d6","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-141.952","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-141.954"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
