Laws § 15.51","heading":"Official bonds of certain state officers; amount; filing.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nThe secretary of state and deputy secretary of state of this state, and the private secretary and executive clerk of the governor of this state, shall be required within 20 days after this act takes effect, and their successors in office shall be required within 20 days after entering upon the duties of their respective offices, to give bonds to the people of the state of Michigan with 3 or more sureties to be approved by the state treasurer and attorney general, conditioned for the faithful discharge of their official duties, and for the safe and lawful custody and disposition of the money and property of this state that may be entrusted to them or come within their control.\n\nThe bond of the secretary of state shall be in the sum of $25,000.00, that of the deputy secretary of state shall be in the sum of $20,000.00, and the bonds of the private secretary and the executive clerk of the governor shall be each in the sum of $5,000.00.
