Laws § 18.1281","heading":"Contract for services; contract for personal services; reports.","body":"Sec. 281.\n\nBefore the fifteenth of each month, the department of civil service shall report to the appropriations committees and the fiscal agencies the following for each contract for services approved by the department of civil service during the previous calendar month:\n\nThe state agency contracting for the service.\n\nThe name of the individual or entity with whom the state agency is contracting.\n\nThe dollar amount of and source of financing for the contract.\n\nThe name of any individual providing contractual services to the state, whether as a special personal service employee or as the employee of an independent contractor, as certified by the contracting state agency, and who has retired under section 19a of Act No. 240 of the Public Acts of 1943, being section 38.19a of the Michigan Compiled Laws.\n\nThe department of civil service shall report to the appropriations committees and the fiscal agencies before January 30 of each year the following information for contracts for personal services approved by the department of civil service during the previous fiscal year:\n\nThe state agency contracting for the service.\n\nThe name of the individual or entity with whom the state agency is contracting.\n\nThe dollar amount and source of financing for the contract.\n\nThe name of an individual providing contractual services to the state, whether as a special personal service employee or as the employee of an independent contractor, who is certified by the contracting state agency, and who has retired under section 19a of Act No. 240 of the Public Acts of 1943, being section 38.19a of the Michigan Compiled Laws.\n\nThe total number of contracts submitted by the state agencies and the total number approved.\n\nThe total dollar amount of contracts submitted by the state agencies and the total dollar amount approved.\n\nThe duration of employment of special personal service employees paid on payroll.\n\nThe total dollar amount and total number of hours a state agency contracts with an independent contractual service vendor that is paid by voucher.\n\nThe number of contracts approved to have jobs performed contractually that had been performed by classified civil service employees including the total number of positions eliminated; what provisions were made for the reemployment of the displaced employees; and what, if any, cost savings to the state were realized as a result of the contracts.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 18","Act Act-431-of-1984"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-18-1281","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"1489967435275b65a0033435140358d91f71e83446e680b363190c06032db90f","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-18.1279","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-18.1281a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
