Laws § 205.721","heading":"Tax tribunal; creation; quasi-judicial agency; appointment, reappointment, and terms of members; vacancy; training.","body":"Sec. 21.\n\n(1) The tax tribunal is created and is a quasi-judicial agency which, for administrative purposes only, is in the department of licensing and regulatory affairs.\n\n(2) The tribunal consists of 7 members appointed by the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, for terms of 4 years.\n\n(3) A member may be reappointed and a vacancy shall be filled for an unexpired term in the same manner as the appointment is made for a full term.\n\n(4) Members shall receive training on matters relevant to the work of the tribunal, including, but not limited to, proper courtroom procedures, state and local tax issues, accepted appraisal practices, and proper assessing practices.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 205","Act Act-186-of-1973"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-205-721","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2b1f0938373f8a01b84d9c308711bfdcd3b2042d217398f4d91c35d1dec288b1","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-205.707","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-205.722"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
