Laws § 211.663","heading":"Notices of liens, certificates, and other notices affecting federal liens; filing requirements.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nNotices of liens, certificates, and other notices affecting federal tax liens or other federal liens shall be filed pursuant to this act.\n\nNotices of liens upon real property for obligations payable to the United States and certificates and notices affecting the liens shall be filed in the office of the register of deeds of the county in which the real property subject to the liens is situated.\n\nNotices of federal liens upon personal property, whether tangible or intangible, for obligations payable to the United States and certificates and notices affecting the liens shall be filed as follows:\n\nIf the person against whose interest the lien applies is a corporation or a partnership whose principal executive office is in this state, as these entities are defined in the internal revenue code, in the office of the secretary of state.\n\nIn all other cases, in the office of the register of deeds of the county where the person against whose interest the lien applies resides at the time of filing of the notice of lien.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 211","Act Act-102-of-1983"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-211-663","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"d0216ed7e2409ad901a5b87851ad07bf993f036d603eada3129e27c4f591f6dc","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-211.662","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-211.664"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
