Laws § 247.62","heading":"Noxious weeds; definition; exclusion of milkweed.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\n(1) For the purpose of this act, \"noxious weeds\" includes all of the following:\n\n(a) Canada thistle ( Cirsium arvense ).\n\n(b) Dodders (any species of the genus Cuscuta ).\n\n(c) Mustards (charlock, black mustard, and Indian mustard, species of the genus Brassica or Sinapis ).\n\n(d) Wild carrot ( Daucus carota ).\n\n(e) Bindweed ( Convolvulus arvensis ).\n\n(f) Perennial sowthistle ( Sonchus arvensis ).\n\n(g) Hoary alyssum ( Berteroa incana ).\n\n(h) Giant hogweed ( Heracleum mantegazzianum ).\n\n(i) Ragweed ( Ambrosia elatior L.).\n\n(j) Poison ivy ( Toxicodendron radicans ).\n\n(k) Poison sumac ( Toxicodendron vernix ).\n\n( l ) Any other plant that, in the opinion of the governing body of any county, city, township, or village, falls under the provisions of this act and is regarded as a common nuisance.\n\n(2) Noxious weeds does not include milkweed (any species of the genus Asclepias ).","path":["MI Code","Chapter 247","Act Act-359-of-1941"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-247-62","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"84c4aacd1305745eda31e67a7f2cf96840fb55464a19540cfd639e93e225ecb1","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-247.61","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-247.63"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
