Laws § 257.2149","heading":"Certain conduct as misdemeanor; fine; proceeding.","body":"Sec. 49.\n\n(1) A limousine carrier, taxicab carrier, or transportation network company, or an officer or agent of a limousine carrier, taxicab carrier, or transportation network company who requires or knowingly permits a driver to drive or operate a limousine, taxicab, or personal vehicle in violation of this act, or a rule promulgated under this act, is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00 per violation or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.\n\n(2) In addition to the fine authorized by this section, the department may assess a fine against a person who violates this act that covers the actual cost to the department of the investigation and enforcement of the violation, including attorney fees.\n\n(3) A proceeding held under this act shall be held under chapter 4 of the administrative procedures act of 1969, 1969 PA 306, MCL 24.271 to 24.287.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 257","Act Act-345-of-2016"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-257-2149","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c5f798919e31f89303aeba771f3b67774f2f42ca572777ba3dd5317027df0bf1","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.2147","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.2151"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
