Laws § 257.52","heading":"“Revocation” defined.","body":"Sec. 52.\n\n\"Revocation\" means that the operator's or chauffeur's license and privilege to operate a motor vehicle on the public highways are terminated and shall not be renewed or restored until the later of the following:\n\nThe expiration of not less than 1 year after the license was revoked.\n\nThe expiration of not less than 5 years after the date of a subsequent revocation occurring within 7 years after the date of a prior revocation.\n\nIf a license has been revoked, an application for a new license may be presented and acted upon by the secretary of state as provided in section 303.\n\nWhen referring to a dealer license, \"revocation\" means that a person's authorization to engage in business as a dealer is terminated and shall not be restored or renewed, except that an application for a new license may be considered at the discretion of the secretary of state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 257","Act Act-300-of-1949"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-257-52","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2211b272f3e5e880c4a61181314189933312cbe97691376bb75e7bcad71310f0","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.51a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.520"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
