Laws § 257.639","heading":"Driving to left side of roadway; limitations; violation as civil infraction.","body":"Sec. 639.\n\nA vehicle shall not be driven to the left side of the roadway under the following conditions:\n\nWhen approaching the crest of a grade or upon a curve in the highway where the driver's view is obstructed within a distance as to create a hazard in the event another vehicle might approach from the opposite direction.\n\nWhen the view is obstructed upon approaching within 100 feet of a bridge, viaduct, or tunnel.\n\nThe limitations of subsection (1) shall not apply upon a 1-way roadway.\n\nA person who violates this section is responsible for a civil infraction.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 257","Act Act-300-of-1949"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-257-639","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bb5bf71b615eef4156eb6dad2ef169fe328390b66030f31bb4b6c88a55d4fd9e","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.638","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.63a"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
