Laws § 257.719b","heading":"Certain mobile homes transported in lower peninsula; additional requirements.","body":"Sec. 719b.\n\nAll mobile homes transported on the highways of the Lower Peninsula of this state that are more than 14-1/3 feet wide, plus normal appurtenances that extend no more than 6 inches, and an eave that extends no more than 2 feet from the width of the mobile home, are subject to the following requirements in addition to the requirements of section 719a:\n\nTwo escort vehicles shall escort the towing vehicle and mobile home on all 2-lane roads and on those roads where the state police consider 2 escort vehicles necessary for highway safety.\n\nEach towing vehicle shall be equipped with a radio or other device that allows for continuous communication between the towing vehicle and each escort vehicle.\n\nThe person transporting the mobile home shall have in effect a liability insurance policy covering personal injury and property damage and having policy limits of not less than $1,000,000.00.\n\nThe towing vehicle and mobile home shall not exceed a speed of 45 miles per hour or 10 miles per hour below the posted speed limit, whichever is lower.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 257","Act Act-300-of-1949"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-257-719b","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bc007c5016aa0983ba4ca7b37c2dd4f8426079857453e93eab3f926903f1b924","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.719a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.719c"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
