Laws § 257.791c","heading":"Animals, other than service or qualified animals prohibited on or in streetcar or station; violation as civil infraction; definitions.","body":"Sec. 791c.\n\n(1) A person shall not bring, carry, or transport an animal other than a service animal or qualified animal on a streetcar or in any area of a station used by a street railway system.\n\n(2) A person who violates this section is responsible for a civil infraction.\n\n(3) As used in this section:\n\n(a) \"Qualified animal\" means an animal that is not more than 25 pounds and is controlled in a cage.\n\n(b) \"Service animal\" means that term as defined in section 502c of the Michigan penal code, 1931 PA 328, MCL 750.502c.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 257","Act Act-300-of-1949"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-257-791c","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"14738829d6d65e9beedc626355182e0498e24741d2bc6b910b59b609af5f3b15","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.791b","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-257.791d"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
