Laws § 28.2","heading":"Michigan state police; creation; director, appointment, salary, oath of office, location of department.","body":"Sec. 2.\n\nThere is created a department of the state government which shall be known and designated as the Michigan state police, which shall consist of a director as its executive head, and of such officers and employees as may be appointed or employed in such department. The director shall be appointed by the governor, by and with the advice and consent of the senate, and shall hold office during good behavior. The salary of the director shall be such as shall be appropriated by the legislature.
