Laws § 28.254","heading":"Reports of wanted persons and stolen vehicles.","body":"Sec. 4.\n\nThe chief of police of each city or village and of each township having a police department, and the sheriff of each county within this state, shall report to the department of state police, in a manner prescribed by the department, all persons wanted by, and all vehicles stolen from, their primary police jurisdictions. The report shall be made as soon as is practical after the investigating department either ascertains that a vehicle is stolen or obtains a warrant for an individual's arrest or determines that they have reasonable grounds to believe that the individual committed a crime.
