Laws § 28.803","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nAs used in this act:\n\n(a) \"Commission\" means the following:\n\n( i ) Before January 1, 2025, the school safety commission created under section 5.\n\n( ii ) Beginning January 1, 2025, the school safety and mental health commission created under section 6.\n\n(b) \"Department\" means the department of state police.\n\n(c) \"School\" means a public school, nonpublic school, or public school academy as those terms are defined in section 5 of the revised school code, 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.5.\n\n(d) \"School safety liaison\" means the individual designated by a school under section 1241 of the revised school code, 1976 PA 451, MCL 380.1241, to work with the commission.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 28","Act Act-548-of-2018"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-28-803","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"19f684d352ec44e1c34f330150e15201a6fca5c8439fd8f0967dee9bb9de2965","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-28.801","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-28.806"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
