Laws § 280.573","heading":"Costs; items, contingent expenses.","body":"Sec. 573.\n\nThe cost of any project shall include (1) the cost of locating, establishing and constructing the project; (2) the administrative staff, office and other expenses of the board and commission; (3) the cost of construction of all works and appurtenances necessary to efficient operation and maintenance of the project; (4) the cost of acquiring any lands and/or rights of way; (5) all engineering, legal and other professional fees; (6) the cost of the service and publication of all notices; (7) interest on bonds for the first year, if bonds are to be issued; and (8) an amount not exceeding 10% of those costs which are to be assessed against public corporations, to cover contingent expenses.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 280","Act Act-40-of-1956"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-280-573","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4282f1c3a07d7267fa42160c33bd78522cc3d9a4fc66b662e20324dd7091d6e1","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-280.572","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-280.574"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
