Laws § 286.101","heading":"White pine blister rust; definitions.","body":"Sec. 1.\n\nFor the purposes of this act the following words, names and terms shall be construed respectively to mean:\n\nCommissioner: The commissioner of agriculture.\n\nCultivated black currants: Plants, roots, cuttings or scions of Ribes nigrum L.\n\nCurrants and gooseberries: Plants, roots, cuttings or scions belonging to the genera Ribes L. and Grossularia (Tourn.) Mill.\n\nWhite pine blister rust control area: An area established by state authority, wherein the planting and possession of currant and gooseberry plants is prohibited for the purpose of protecting the white pines on such area from damage by white pine blister rust.\n\nFruiting currant and gooseberry control area: An area established by state authority wherein the planting or possession of white pines is prohibited for the purpose of protecting fruiting currants and gooseberries in such areas from damage by the white pine blister rust.\n\nWhite pine: Plants of any species belonging to the genus Pinus which bear their needles in clusters of 5.\n\nWhite pine blister rust: The fungous disease caused by Cronartium ribicola Fischer.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 286","Act Act-313-of-1929"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-286-101","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"70747c937e5cec81eab66073f635629cf4b4ed63aa7d46bb75401b87b1a7b025","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-286.602","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-286.102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
