Laws § 286.706","heading":"Forest tree seed; required information.","body":"Sec. 6.\n\nFor forest tree seed, the following information is required:\n\nThe common name of the species, and the subspecies if appropriate.\n\nThe scientific name of the genus and species, and the subspecies if appropriate.\n\nThe lot number or other lot identification.\n\nFor seed collected from a predominantly indigenous stand, the area of collection given by latitude and longitude, or geographic description, or the state or county.\n\nFor seed collected form a predominantly nonindigenous stand, the identity of the area of collection and the origin of the stand, or the words \"origin not indigenous\".\n\nThe elevation or the upper and lower limits of elevation within which the seed was collected.\n\nThe percentage of pure seed by weight.\n\nFor those kinds of forest tree seed for which standard testing procedures are prescribed by rule, the following is required:\n\nThe percentage of germination exclusive of dormant seed.\n\nThe percentage of dormant seed, if present.\n\nThe calendar month and the year the percentages were determined by test.\n\nIn place of the requirements of subdivision (h), the seed may be labeled \"test is in progress, results will be supplied upon request\".\n\nFor those species for which standard germination testing procedures have not been prescribed by the director, the calendar year in which the seed was collected.\n\nThe name and complete address of the person who labeled the seed or who sells seed within this state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 286","Act Act-329-of-1965"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-286-706","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"b61c9ecc637ad3fffcabe25ef3e2a4fd7aa0c5200d079d4f5c819f4e920e3120","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-286.705","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-286.707"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
