Laws § 287.116","heading":"Suspension, revocation, or denial of license; grounds.","body":"Sec. 6.\n\nThe department may suspend, revoke, or deny the issuance of a license for any of the following reasons:\n\nThe failure to provide suitable shelter, food, and water for horses or ponies.\n\nThe maintenance of an unsanitary or unfit riding stable or sales barn.\n\nThe failure to provide suitable harnesses, saddles, bridles, and other equipment reasonably necessary under the circumstances.\n\nThe use of unfit horses for riding or driving purposes.\n\nThe commission of an act of cruelty or torture or the inflicting of unnecessary pain upon a horse or pony, whether by the licensee or by his agent or employee.\n\nThe supplying of false information to the department, the refusal to permit inspection or furnish records upon request, or otherwise obstructing the department in the performance of its duties.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 287","Act Act-93-of-1974"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-287-116","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"4fb0dcba7d8bb9b3899b4854ef3093bc02c43a1842f7affff706b76a2a11ee65","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-287.115","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-287.117"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
