Laws § 29.476","heading":"Agreements with federal agencies, national repository, or other states; reciprocal registration and permitting coordination; payments; development of forms, applications, and software.","body":"Sec. 6.\n\nThe department may enter into agreements with federal agencies, a national repository, or other participating states as needed to allow for the reciprocal registration and permitting of motor carriers. The agreements may include procedures for determining base states, the collection and distribution of fees, dispute resolution, the exchange of information for reporting and enforcement, and other provisions necessary to administer this act and the uniform program.\n\nThe department shall confer with the department of state with the intent of coordinating the registration and permitting required under this act with other permitting and registration programs.\n\nThe department, and, if appropriate under subsection (2), the department of state, may make payments to agencies of other participating states in the uniform program, for the purposes of reimbursement of apportioned registration permit fees.\n\nThe department may develop the necessary forms, applications, and software required to implement this act.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 29","Act Act-138-of-1998"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-29-476","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2bba38f9b6927bee9fa5b43d5abf2575fc1a6fa51583d43535e6af08f65513d2","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-29.475","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-29.477"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
