Laws § 290.644a","heading":"Testing storage tank at retail outlet to determine water or water-alcohol level; prohibited sales; testing supplies.","body":"Sec. 4a.\n\n(1) A storage tank at a retail outlet shall be periodically tested by the retail dealer to insure that the tank does not have water or water-alcohol at the bottom of that tank in an amount greater than 2 inches. If there is more than 2 inches of water or water-alcohol at the bottom of the storage tank, gasoline, diesel fuel, biodiesel, or biodiesel blend shall not be sold to a consumer from that tank until the water or water-alcohol level is reduced to a level of less than 2 inches.\n\n(2) Adequate testing supplies, as determined by the department, shall be maintained at the retail outlet and shall also be made available to the department to determine the water or water-alcohol level in the storage tank.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 290","Act Act-44-of-1984"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-290-644a","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"aab6184f2bee75a8a3a00d3ac8e746490a9cf80456fd772c3157585925bea038","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-290.644","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-290.645"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
