Laws § 3.733","heading":"Mutual aid agreement; authorization; terms; filing.","body":"Sec. 3.\n\nAn agreement entered into under this act by a county, city, village, or township law enforcement agency shall first be authorized by the governing body of that law enforcement agency of this state and the governing body of the law enforcement agency of the physically adjacent state.\n\nAn agreement entered into under this act shall include at least all of the following terms:\n\nThe name and title of the official who may initiate a mutual aid request and a mutual aid response under the agreement.\n\nThe nature of an emergency situation that may initiate a request or a response of the law enforcement agency to or from the law enforcement agency of the physically adjacent state.\n\nThe arrest authority of the law enforcement officers responding from the law enforcement agency of the physically adjacent state, which must comply with the peace officer standards of the adjacent state.\n\nThe chain of command for the supervision of the responding law enforcement officers from the law enforcement agency of the physically adjacent state.\n\nAn agreement entered into under this act shall be filed with the commission on law enforcement standards.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 3","Act Act-310-of-2000"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-3-733","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"7a3972832fe2db768aa4c57883a65d8f60cc4691c20028d98daefb949a285035","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-3.732","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-3.734"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
