Laws § 3.818","heading":"Powers of commission.","body":"Sec. 8.\n\nThe commission may do 1 or more of the following:\n\nHold public meetings.\n\nContract for research and services.\n\nAccept assistance from public agencies, colleges and universities, private foundations, individuals, partnerships, corporations, or associations.\n\nForm committees or working groups as appropriate for the performance of the responsibilities of the commission.\n\nAcquire, hold, and dispose of real property, easements, and rights-of-way as may be necessary for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the superconducting super collider, and for supporting land and facilities as may be required or useful for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the superconducting super collider.\n\nExercise the power of eminent domain under the uniform condemnation procedures act, Act No. 87 of the Public Acts of 1980, being sections 213.51 to 213.77 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, for purposes consistent with this act.\n\nLease, sell, donate, convey, or otherwise transfer property acquired under this act to the United States department of energy for use on the superconducting super collider project.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 3","Act Act-26-of-1987"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-3-818","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"1b4b17e3e1932821c7220a1260a12937f71b46571765f339c2d3c54dc8dfd26a","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-3.817","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-3.819"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
