Laws § 324.14506","heading":"Pollution prevention research grants program; establishment; distribution of information and applications for grants; form and contents of application; recipients of grants; considerations.","body":"Sec. 14506.\n\nThe department shall establish a pollution prevention research grants program.\n\nInformation and applications for grants under this section shall be distributed upon request through the department.\n\nAn application for a grant under this section shall be on a form provided by the department and shall contain information required by the director.\n\nThe director shall make grants to colleges and universities, nonprofit corporations, or industry associations or other persons for industry specific research projects pertaining to pollution prevention.\n\nThe director, in making grants pursuant to this section, shall consider all of the following:\n\nThe severity of the environmental waste problem being addressed.\n\nThe extent that the technological development will reduce the volume or quantity or toxicity of environmental waste generated.\n\nThe potential for the application of pollution prevention technology to other persons.\n\nThe ability of the applicant to contribute matching funds.\n\nThe percentage reduction of volume or quantity or toxicity of environmental waste that will be achieved.\n\nThe likelihood of the applicant's project qualifying for other research grants or subsequent research grants from other sources.\n\nWhether the project is consistent with state law and policy.\n\nAdditional criteria as the director considers appropriate.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-14506","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"0161552fb49f917f10acfe2150a7f6c896fa1fb3416c9ac981fd7e72c5d2c692","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.14504","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.14510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
