Laws § 324.16101","heading":"Definitions.","body":"Sec. 16101.\n\nAs used in this part:\n\n\"Degradable\" means capable of being broken down by biodegradation, photodegradation, or chemical degradation into component parts within 360 days under exposure to the elements.\n\n\"Label\" means a molded, imprinted, or raised symbol on or near the bottom of a plastic product.\n\n\"Plastic\" means any material made of polymeric organic compounds and additives that can be shaped by flow.\n\n\"Plastic bottle\" means a rigid plastic container with a capacity of 16 ounces or more that has a neck that is smaller than the body of the container.\n\n\"Plastic product\" means a plastic bottle and any other rigid plastic container.\n\n\"Rigid plastic container\" means any container composed predominantly of plastic resin and having a relatively inflexible finite shape or form that directly holds a substance or material and has a capacity of 8 ounces or more.\n\n\"PETE\" means polyethylene terephthalate.\n\n\"HDPE\" means high density polyethylene.\n\n\"V\" means vinyl.\n\n\"LDPE\" means low density polyethylene.\n\n\"PP\" means polypropylene.\n\n\"PS\" means polystyrene.\n\n\"OTHER\" means multilayer.\n\n\"D\" means degradable.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-16101","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"c5050cd07f08c026dde3d098eeb1d09165bcf7d381df2d8366e25163b281726f","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.1609","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.16102"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
