Laws § 324.17105b","heading":"Button cell mercuric oxide battery or mercuric oxide battery; sales or offers.","body":"Sec. 17105b.\n\nBeginning on January 1, 1996, a person shall not sell, offer for sale, or offer for promotional purposes a button cell mercuric oxide battery for use in this state.\n\nBeginning on January 1, 1996, a person shall not sell, offer for sale, or offer for promotional purposes a mercuric oxide battery for use in this state unless the manufacturer does all of the following:\n\nIdentifies a collection site that has all required government approvals, to which a person may send used mercuric oxide batteries for recycling or proper disposal after mercury is recovered from the battery.\n\nInforms each of its purchasers of mercuric oxide batteries of the collection site identified under subdivision (a).\n\nInforms each of its purchasers of mercuric oxide batteries of a telephone number that the purchaser may call to get information about returning mercuric oxide batteries for recycling or proper disposal.\n\nSubsection (2) does not apply to mercuric oxide button cell batteries.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-17105b","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"1d1784504de1576533bde9cf5639244ea58e49fd1191e87f34f28dc936160e7b","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.17105a","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.17105c"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
