Laws § 324.30703","heading":"Preliminary study; costs; contents of study.","body":"Sec. 30703.\n\nBefore proceeding on a motion made or a petition filed under section 30702, the county board may require that a preliminary study be conducted by a licensed professional engineer. The county board, by resolution, may require a cash payment from the petitioners sufficient to cover the actual preliminary study costs or of $10,000.00, whichever is less.\n\nA preliminary study shall include all of the following:\n\nThe feasibility of a project to establish and maintain a normal level of the inland lake.\n\nThe expediency of the normal level project.\n\nFeasible and prudent alternative methods and designs for controlling the normal level.\n\nThe estimated costs of construction and maintenance of the normal level project.\n\nA method of financing initial costs.\n\nThe necessity of a special assessment district and the tentative boundaries if a district is necessary.\n\nOther information that the county board resolves is necessary.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-30703","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"04523fdc7ce196e5d999dfeaaf6345de4718f78757e09930c53b654e3baa5285","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.30702","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.30704"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
