Laws § 324.43534","heading":"Free fishing days.","body":"Sec. 43534.\n\nThe department shall designate a Saturday and the following Sunday during January or February of each year as free winter fishing days. In addition, the department may designate 1 other day or 2 other consecutive days each year as free fishing days.\n\nDuring free fishing days, a resident or nonresident may fish for all species of fish in waters of this state designated by the department without purchasing a license or permit.\n\nA person who fishes during a free fishing day pursuant to subsection (1) has the same privileges and is subject to the same rules and regulations as the holder of a limited fishing license issued pursuant to section 43533.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-43534","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"116b0a555533acc8c8e274f99acb0dff7b6d60a0afb102262e68993db83396a5","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.43533","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.43535"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
