Laws § 324.50137","heading":"Expenses of district; sources of payment; allocation of funds.","body":"Sec. 50137.\n\nThe expenses of a district may be paid from 1 or more of the following:\n\nAn appropriation by the legislature.\n\nThe revenues of the district's facilities and operations.\n\nThe proceeds of the service fees authorized by this part.\n\nThe proceeds of sales of state timber within the district except for the redemption of the bonds in case of default.\n\nFederal grants or from gifts or grants from private persons.\n\nThe proceeds from the sale of the bonds of the district.\n\nAny other funds available to the district.\n\nWhen allocating available funds among proposed districts, the department shall consider the proposed district or districts which in its judgment will produce the greatest public benefit, giving consideration to all of the following factors:\n\nThe need for and potential commercial benefits of forest improvement if the district is formed within the proposed gross territorial boundaries.\n\nThe need for and potential benefits to long-term production, maintenance, and enhancement of the total forest resource system.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-50137","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"2a44acc3bd43d0b12703188c79da63e3fd826940b73d20ae04733bb06072d695","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.50135","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.50138"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
