Laws § 324.71510","heading":"Grant or loan program; rules; maximum participation; considerations in determining appropriateness of grant or loan program; considerations in making grant or loan.","body":"Sec. 71510.\n\nThe department shall assure maximum participation by local units of government by promulgating rules that provide for a grant or loan program, where appropriate. In determining whether a grant or a loan program is appropriate, the department shall consider whether the project is likely to be undertaken without state assistance; the availability of state funds from other sources; the degree of private sector participation in the type of project under consideration; the extent of the need for the project as a demonstration project; and other factors considered important by the department.\n\nPrior to making a grant or loan authorized by this part, the department shall consider the extent to which the making of the grant or loan contributes to the achievement of a balanced distribution of grants and loans throughout the state.","path":["MI Code","Chapter 324","Act Act-451-of-1994"],"source_url":"https://www.legislature.mi.gov/Laws/MCL?objectName=mcl-324-71510","current_through":"2026-08-14","vintage":"open-us-law v2026.08, retrieved 2026-09-14","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T18:32:31Z","sha256":"bcd414c08ce06b410d1a795b0514a8e4d6d56dac16dcd89192662dd5e00abfe6","source_id":"us-mi","stale":false,"prev":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.71509","next":"us-mi/mich.-comp.-laws-324.71511"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
